The official Litecoin account on X has alleged that Reddit’s r/CryptoCurrency forum is banning positive posts about Litecoin (LTC). The account said supporters who share general Litecoin news should not be banned or suspended. Moderators of the subreddit have not publicly responded to the claim.
What Litecoin Said
In a post on X published at 12:41 UTC on October 9, 2026, the Litecoin account said there is a “concerted effort on r/CryptoCurrency to ban anything positive about Litecoin.” It added that Litecoin supporters simply posting general news should not face bans or suspensions, concluding, “This needs to stop.”
The post did not include ban notices, moderator messages, or a list of removed posts. It also did not point to a specific subreddit rule that Litecoin believes is being enforced unevenly.
User Says Ban Followed DeLorean News
Replying to the post, X user @KiwiTuckerNE, who uses the name Cryptocalm.ltc, said they were banned from the subreddit the previous day for posting about the DeLorean news. The user also claimed that moderators had weakened the LitecoinMarkets community over time by banning users who expressed positive views about Litecoin.
Other replies agreed that the suspensions were unwarranted. None of the replies reviewed by The Crypto Times included a statement from r/CryptoCurrency moderators. The reported ban is based on one user’s account and has not been independently verified.
A Busy Week for Litecoin
The complaint comes days after the Litecoin Foundation and DeLorean Labs announced that DeLorean Motor Company plans to accept LTC and its DMC asset for upcoming DeLorean-branded electric vehicles (EVs), once they become available.
October 7 also marked Litecoin’s 15th anniversary. Creator Charlie Lee launched the network on October 7, 2011, through an announcement on the Bitcointalk forum.
Allegation Remains Unverified
r/CryptoCurrency is one of Reddit’s largest general crypto discussion forums. Its community rules restrict certain promotional, low-effort, and off-topic posts.
Until moderators respond or ban records become available, Litecoin’s claim remains unverified and is based on statements from the official account and replies from community members.
