Andrew Tate’s best crypto trade apparently appears to be the one he did nothing with.
Blockchain tracker Lookonchain says the wallet linked to Tate deposited 20,950 HYPE, worth about $1.87 million, into Binance on Friday. The tokens come from a position of 122,827 HYPE bought at around $4.48 roughly two years ago, costing about $550,000. He still holds 63,550 HYPE, worth about $5.62 million.
Lookonchain puts the total gain at $7.24 million, a return of 1,317%.
A deposit to an exchange is not a sale. It moves tokens somewhere they can be sold, and nothing on-chain shows whether they have been.
The Wallet Is Public Because He Made It Public
The address is traceable to Tate because of something he did himself.
In June 2025, Tate posted a screenshot boasting of a 138.5% gain on a leveraged Ether long, alongside his Hyperliquid referral code. Because Hyperliquid settles on-chain, traders located the wallet within minutes. The post was deleted; the address stayed public, and Arkham Intelligence has labelled it since.
The Rest of the Record
What that wallet showed when traders first found it was not a winning account. Lookonchain reported in June 2025 that the same address had made 76 trades with 27 wins, a 35.53% win rate, and cumulative losses above $583,000.
In November 2025, Arkham reported that Tate had deposited $727,000 into Hyperliquid and lost all of it without making a single withdrawal, along with roughly $75,000 in referral rewards earned from traders using his code. More recently, Lookonchain said he had been liquidated more than 100 times before opening a 40x Bitcoin long worth about $3.76 million, which was partially liquidated again.
Those are leveraged perpetual futures positions. The HYPE holding is a spot position bought and held. They are different activities on the same platform, and the $7.24 million figure describes only the second.
What the Numbers Do and Do Not Show
Lookonchain’s figures are its own calculations based on on-chain data. The arithmetic is internally consistent: 122,827 tokens at $4.48 is about $550,000, and the deposited and retained tokens together imply a price near $89 per HYPE.
Between the original purchase and today, 59,277 HYPE are unaccounted for in Lookonchain’s summary, which suggests earlier sales that would make up the difference between the holdings’ current value and the stated total profit.
What the post does not show is whether the deposit is a sale, a transfer for custody, or collateral for something else.
