Robinhood Markets has begun rolling out cryptocurrency trading to eligible customers in the United Kingdom, integrating more than 50 digital assets into its primary investment application. It is delivering the service through Bitstamp UK Ltd., the crypto-asset service provider that it acquired for $200 million last year. Bitstamp UK is also registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
According to a Bloomberg report, the service will begin rolling out to eligible UK customers this week, allowing them to buy and sell digital assets alongside stocks, shares ISAs, options and futures within a single interface.
The UK offering includes major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and HYPE, with over 50 tokens available at launch. Robinhood said the service will initially charge zero trading, account maintenance, and custody fees. Customers will, however, pay a 0.1% foreign exchange fee, rising to 0.3% for certain weekend currency conversions.
Crypto assets held through Bitstamp UK are not covered by the UK’s Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service, Robinhood said.
AI-Powered Analysis & On-Chain Expansion
The launch introduces Robinhood Cortex Digests for Crypto to UK customers.
The generative AI-powered feature analyzes breaking news, market data, technical indicators, and Robinhood’s proprietary insights to provide context around price movements in individual cryptocurrencies. Robinhood said the tool is designed to help investors better understand market conditions and the factors influencing crypto prices.
The UK expansion also follows Robinhood’s broader push into decentralized infrastructure. Robinhood launched its permissionless, Arbitrum-based Layer 2 network, Robinhood Chain, publicly in July. The network has Uniswap as its primary automated market maker and it recently launched Pools.trade on Robinhood Chain, allowing users to create, discover and trade tokens while connecting new projects directly with Uniswap v4 liquidity pools.
Robinhood said its blockchain has processed more than $18 billion in decentralized exchange trading volume and surpassed $840 million in total value locked since its July 1 launch.
Crypto Revenue Under Pressure
Robinhood’s UK expansion comes despite weaker crypto trading revenue in its latest quarterly results. The company reported $1.31 billion in total net revenue for the second quarter, up 32% from a year earlier. Net income reached $573 million, a 48% increase from the same period in 2025.
Crypto transaction revenue, however, fell 38% year over year to $100 million. At the same time, revenue from prediction markets rose to $156 million, surpassing crypto transaction revenue for the first time.
With the UK launch, Robinhood expands its international reach, testing retail demand for integrated crypto trading and on-chain services outside the U.S.
