Pi Network co-founder Dr. Chengdiao Fan is set to deliver a keynote speech at the upcoming TOKEN2049 conference, on October 1, 2025. The project has also been confirmed as a gold sponsor for the event, which is expected to have over 25,000 attendees and more than 300 speakers.
The event will also include notable figures like Binance CEO Richard Teng, TRON founder Justin Sun, and Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev.
Dr. Fan will discuss how blockchain can be leveraged for real-world benefits through Web3 innovations, with a focus on community building, blockchain adoption, and practical use cases. Fan is expected to give her speech at the Ton Stage at 4:30 PM local time.
Pi Network’s participation in TOKEN2049 is a strategic step to interact with investors, venture capitalists, and C-level executives who make up more than half of the conference attendees. The event’s agenda, which includes the Origins Hackathon and the Nexus Startup Competition, provides an opportunity for Pi to show its ecosystem’s development.
In other developments, Pi Network has continued to expand its reach. The project recently integrated with Onramp Money which provided access to over 60 countries. This allows users to purchase Pi Coin directly using local payment methods.
The network is progressing with its plans to upgrade its protocol from version 19 to version 23. This upgrade, inspired by Stellar’s design, is intended to improve network performance and further strengthen its ecosystem. The testnet has already been upgraded to version 23 as the network moves towards its mainnet launch.
