Strategy Buys 130 Bitcoin, Its Smallest Purchase Yet

Michael Saylor’s Strategy, the biggest public company that holds the largest amount of Bitcoin in the world, has made its smallest Bitcoin purchase.

Earlier today, the company announced that it bought 130 Bitcoin (BTC) for $10.7 million in cash. This means it paid an average price of $82,981 per Bitcoin.

Usually, Strategy buys Bitcoin in huge amounts, but this time, it was different. The money for this purchase came from their “STRK ATM” program, which is a plan to raise up to $21 billion to buy even more Bitcoin. This is the smallest amount they’ve ever bought at one time. Before this, the smallest purchase was 169 BTC in August 2024.

After this recent purchase, Strategy now owns a total of 499,226 BTC. Altogether, the company has spent $33.1 billion to get all of these Bitcoins. Its average price per Bitcoin is $66,360, including all extra costs. Now, the company is just 774 BTC away from reaching 500,000 BTC, which would be a huge milestone for them.

So far, in 2025, Strategy has bought 51,656 BTC in seven different purchases. But this recent buy is much smaller than usual. It happened at a time when Bitcoin’s price dropped below $80,000, hitting its lowest level in months. Even though the price went down, Strategy didn’t buy as much as people expected.

According to the company’s website, its Bitcoin yield is currently 6.9%, which is much lower than its 15% goal for 2025. So far, Strategy is still committed to buying more Bitcoin but seems to be taking things a bit slower.
