Taproot Wizard Bankrolls Odin.fun A Bitcoin Trading Platform

Taproot Wizards, a well-known Bitcoin Ordinals project, has invested in Odin.fun, a new platform that makes trading Bitcoin-based memecoins simple and fast. The investment was led by Udi Wertheimer, co-founder of Taproot Wizards, who said he was really impressed with how well Odin.fun worked.

“We’ve known Odin’s co-founder Bob Bodily for two years. He’s been building in crypto and Bitcoin for a long time and always puts his users first. We’re big fans,” Wertheimer said on X (formerly Twitter).

Odin.fun officially launched in February 2024, but before that, it had a closed beta in January, where a small group of users got to try it out. Bodily invited Taproot Wizards to test the platform, and they were immediately impressed.

“The very next day, I asked Bob to let us lead the round. It was that good,” Wertheimer shared. After that, the platform grew quickly and became popular among Bitcoin traders looking for an easier way to trade memecoins.

Unlike regular Bitcoin trading, Odin.fun is designed to be simple and seamless. It works like Solana’s memecoin trading, where everything happens quickly and without a lot of extra steps. The platform uses automated market makers (AMMs) and liquidity pools (LPs), which help users trade smoothly without needing to understand complex trading systems.

Taproot Wizards had been discussing for a long time about ways to improve Bitcoin trading. But when they saw Odin.fun, they realized someone had already built what they wanted. “Users don’t care about ‘layers.’ They just want to trade easily. Bridging should be seamless and transparent, like it’s not even there,” Wertheimer explained.

Odin.fun was created by Bioniq, a company that builds Bitcoin marketplaces, and is led by Bob Bodily. Even though Taproot Wizards invested in it, Odin.fun will remain independent and continue to run under Bodily’s leadership.

Wertheimer called Odin.fun the best app in the ‘Bitcoin Season 2’ ecosystem and encouraged more people to try it. “It works, it’s seamless, and it’s fun. And the Bitcoin degens love it,” he said.
