Digital Currency Group (DCG) appoints Aimie Killeen as its new Chief Legal Officer. The company made this strong move at a pivotal moment to maintain its legal and corporate governance framework.

Aimie Killeen adds a strong component after her new position at Digital Currency Group. Killen has significant expertise in legal operations, coalitions, and acquisitions, keeping as before, she worked as the Chief Legal Officer at Billtrust, a software and payments development company.

Killeen also worked with Ashurst, a law firm in Australia, as a senior associate for nine years. After she worked at Ashurst, she worked at a financial services firm, DirectCash, as global counsel, and when CardTronics bought DirectCash Payments, she became an executive vice president there.

Andrea’s broad cross-sector experience and exposure to global markets make her ideal for the various legal problems at DCG.

The move of appointment of Aimie Killeen presents that DCG DCG has made to strengthen its leadership group for the maintenance of stable governance in the quickly growing field of digital currency.

Many legal claims have been brought against DCG, particularly since its subsidiary Genesis filed for bankruptcy in January 2023. The case required a strong legal foundation to handle the fallout and establish plans with creditors and partners after the problems had been resolved.

“With her huge experience and global vision, Aimie will be a critical ally in helping us to achieve our strategic goals to propel our company forward,” said the DCG Founder and CEO Barry Silbert put his trust in Killeen’s competence.

Such an assessment highlights the importance of Killeen’s contribution to resolving the existing legal issues as well as enabling DCG’s future expansion.

On May 1, Killeen will lead the group’s global legal operations, enhancing its ability to address international legal matters. Her expertise is vital for navigating regulatory challenges across jurisdictions, is crucial for current and future DCG projects.

Additionally, Killeen will play a key role in DCG’s mergers and acquisitions strategy, ensuring compliance with global legal standards and corporate governance practices. She will collaborate with various stakeholders to safeguard and optimize DCG’s interests in international markets.
