The Chinese government, led by the Communist Party of China (CPC), has declared its intention to address the growing problem of scams and false actions using new technologies like blockchain, metaverse, cryptocurrencies, and artificial intelligence (AI).
As per the report of Global Times, the government is focusing on foreign telecommunication companies to plan false schemes. These schemes aim to trick local people into participating in fraudulent actions.
According to reports, in these fraudulent schemes, foreign entities have been employing misleading strategies, like pretending to offer attractive job opportunities, to trick unsuspecting people into becoming victims.
The Chinese Central Political and Legal Committee stressed the importance of having a well-organized plan and strong laws to stop illegal activities in the country’s digital world.
Beyond law enforcement measures, the Chinese government is increasing its efforts to raise public awareness and promote education.
