Following the massive success of Metaverse Fashion Week 2022 (MFW22), the metaverse platform Decentraland is all set to host the Metaverse Fashion Week 2.0 with sports apparel giant Adidas as a new entry.
The second annual Metaverse Fashion Week will be held from March 28 to 31. MVFW will cover several metaverses, but the Luxury District in Decentraland will be the main hub.
Adidas is debuting in MVF23 with its Virtual Gear digital fashion collection. Owners of Virtual Gear NFTs will get a unique 3D replica of their Virtual Gear item to wear inside the Decentraland’s virtual world.
“The Adidas community will join MVFW to bring an exclusive, community focused experience that brings ITM holders and Decentraland users together,” Decentraland noted.
Adidas’ Virtual Gear NFT becomes a virtual reality for the first time in Decentraland thanks to its newly created Linked Wearable functionality.
VP of the Adidas studio, Erika Wykes-Sneyd, stated: “We’ve worked with Decentraland so the wearables will move into their ecosystem so holders will be able to wear their items.”
Giovanna Casimiro, the metaverse producer for Decentraland, stated, “One of the core values from the first edition was trying to unite designers and expand the aesthetics and the possibilities for brands. So after the first edition, we decided to go across metaverses.”
Casimiro added, “When we talk about extending the interoperability, it’s starting to collaborate with other universes and metaverses to create an agenda [that’s] cross-platform.”
