The government of Telangana will launch its SpaceTech framework through a Metaverse platform today. The state-specific spacetech framework aims to establish Telangana as an emerging commercial hub for space related products and services.
The framework will be launched on PartyNite, a platform developed by Hyderabad-based startup Gamitronics. The virtual event will see the presence of IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, ISRO chairman Somanath S and IN-SPACe chairman Pawan Goenka.
The event will feature a spaceship walk-through of the framework launch as well as the virtual avatars of the above-mentioned government dignitaries who will be interacting with the audience on the platform.
Rajat Ojha, co-founder of Gamitronics and creator of PartyNite said, “The Director of Emerging Technologies’ office reached out to us after the success of our virtual concert by Daler Mehndi on our Metaverse platform – PartyNite. They informed us that they are planning to launch the SpaceTech Framework through Metaverse and they had the vision and we had the platform.”
There are two ways of attending the event. People can participate as an outsider, watch the event being live streamed on Youtube. The other way is as a participant, who can enter the event as their virtual avatars. Participants can ask questions and interact with the dignitaries.
This framework aims to encourage private partnerships in the space industry. The government will provide incentives and infrastructure support to promote space tech research and development.
The state will also offer space-tech fellowships to students. These fellowships will allow students to work with government departments and national and international research academic institutions.
The government will promote joint projects between the researchers. These projects will be carried out through both virtual collaborations as well as active exchange programs.
The initiative will also allow innovators to work on programs that solve problems for the citizens. The best solutions will be onboarded on the proposed space-tech accelerator.
With this framework, the Telangana government will pave the way for future policy launches and prove that it is at the forefront of using emerging technology to develop high-end use cases.
