The crypto hardware wallet provider Ledger was represented by CXO, Ian Rogers at the NFC Summit in Lisbon. He announced a collaboration with the metaverse project, The Sandbox, during his keynote presentation.
Rogers begins by addressing our current puddle in this digital world, “This is an exciting moment to be alive because we have this new invention – digital scarcity. This is about more than a digital version of art. This is about having digital versions of all scarce goods.”
He explains that we have these digital assets that could be lost or stolen. Addressing the issue of self custody, he announces Ledger’s partnership with The Sandbox, thanking the company’s co-founder and chief operations officer Sebastien Borget for the opportunity.
It is a win-win partnership. The Ledger x The Sandbox aims to bring security into The Sandbox’s world and provide Ledger with a place in SAND to educate people about crypto. Ledger will also provide SAND owners with custom Ledger Nanos as part of the partnership.
“The reality is that educated people become Ledger customers, and so we just want to make sure that all people have all the education they need to be safe and to properly manage this incredible kind of rights and freedoms that they have of self custody,” Rogers says.

The now sold-out NFC Summit is a two-day event where NFT artists, projects, platforms, collectors, and investors come together to share their interests in the space.
Notable influencers of the crypto community gave their presence, such as the World of Women NFT Project, Screenshot’s Briyan Cessac, Immutable’s Arash Mahboubi, and more.
Everyone literally is jumping on the bandwagon to create a metaverse project. This indicates a real virtual future.
As for Ledger, it recently collaborated with Nuvei Corporation, Canada’s largest e-payment processing company, to enable direct on-ramps for over 125 cryptocurrencies with major fiat funding options through Simplex.
