Key Highlights
- Bitdeer launched the SealMiner DL1 Hydro, a hydro-cooled miner for Scrypt-based cryptocurrencies.
- The device delivers 52.5 GH/s hashrate with 149 J/GH power efficiency.
- Bitdeer’s stock gained over 2% following the product announcement.
Bitdeer, a crypto mining firm, today launched the DL1 Hydro, a new hydro-cooling Scrypt miner, following the release of its DL1 Air model. The DL1 Hydro expands the company’s mining hardware lineup and is designed for mining Scrypt-based cryptocurrencies, including LTC, DOGE, BELLS, JKC, LKY, and PEP.
According to the official announcement, the DL1 Hydro offers a hashrate of 52.5 GH/s and works at a power efficiency of 149 J/GH with a surrounding temperature of 35°C for LTC and DOGE mining. It includes an average power draw of 7823 W with three modes of operation available with the machine, including Normal Mode, Low Power Mode, and High Hashrate Mode.
Water acts as a coolant
The DL1 Hydro features a small 2U server design. Bitdeer mentioned that inlet coolant temperature can be anywhere between 20°C and 60°C at an operating humidity level between 10% and 90% RH. The cooling system can use water in its pure form or combined with additives against corrosion or antifreeze. Bitdeer stated the DL1 Hydro is mainly focused on Scrypt algorithm coins.
The announcement does not provide pricing or exact availability dates, only stating that the product is “launching soon.” The firm framed the model suitable for modern mining facilities while reducing logistics and operations management pressure.
Following the announcement, Bitdeer’s stock price rose about 2.52%, trading at $17.93, at the time of writing, according to Yahoo Finance.
The previous model
Before its Hydro model, the company released its Air model in March 2026. SEALMINER DL1 Air was a newly developed air-cooled miner intended for Scrypt algorithms. It was launched to use for mining Litecoin, Dogecoin, as well as other cryptocurrencies that use the Scrypt algorithm.
At the time, Bitdeer stated that the DL1 Air offers a hashrate capacity of about 25 GH/s with a power consumption of 149 J/GH. The launch is based on the SEALMINER series by the same company and utilizes traditional air-cooled technology, which makes it easy to deploy in any standard mining environment where there is no need for liquid cooling systems.
Other than LTC and DOGE, the machine supports mining other Scrypt cryptocurrencies, including BELLS (Bellscoin), JKC (Junkcoin), LKY (Luckycoin), and PEP (Pepecoin).
Bitdeer has previously mentioned that Scrypt mining is a possibility for merged mining. Merged mining gives miners an opportunity to mine for several chains at once using the same effort. In an actual sense, miners working on the Litecoin network can get rewards from Dogecoin as well without expending extra effort due to their similarities.
Efficient cooling remains a key factor
Efficient cooling remains crucial for preserving hash rate efficiency and long-term reliability under high-load operating circumstances. However, hydro cooling solutions require some further measures, including coolant management, prevention of leaks, and incorporation into chilled water loops within the facility.
The characteristics of the SealMiner DL1 Hydro may be assessed by users against competing brands on the basis of the total cost of owning them in terms of capital investment, power consumption, cooling costs, and uptime estimates.
With the development of the cryptocurrency mining industry as a whole, equipment choices are influenced by factors such as coin profitability, network difficulty, energy prices, and available cooling technologies.
