Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, will speak at a U.S. Senate Banking Committee hearing on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. The hearing is titled “From Wall Street to Web3: Building Tomorrow’s Digital Asset Markets.”

On X, Garlinghouse confirmed his participation on social media, saying, “I am honored to be invited to testify in front of the Senate Banking Committee this Wednesday on the need for passing crypto market structure legislation.”
Garlinghouse will not be alone in giving testimony. Other influential industry players such as Summer Mersinger of the Blockchain Association, Jonathan Levin of Chainalysis, and Dan Robinson of Paradigm will also be there. They will be giving their opinions regarding the future of digital assets and how the U.S. can improve regulation for them.
The hearing is being presided over by senior lawmakers such as Senator Tim Scott, Senator Cynthia Lummis, and Senator Ruben Gallego. The hearing will center on two significant proposed pieces of legislation, the GENIUS Act and the CLARITY Act. Both bills are intended to establish a clear legal framework for crypto in the U.S.
Garlinghouse said passing crypto market structure laws is necessary to support innovation and financial growth while also protecting consumers. He praised the senators for their leadership in pushing crypto regulation forward.
This is one part of a broader effort by American lawmakers to establish a robust and transparent regulatory framework for digital assets. Senator Tim Scott and other lawmakers recently introduced a set of principles to serve as guidance for forthcoming crypto legislation. The new hearings will be expected to guide the country’s future crypto regulations.
