Alert: Pi Network Extends Kyc And Mainnet Migration Deadline To March 14

Terming it as the “last grace period”, Pi Network developers announced a further extension of KYC and Mainnet migration process deadline to March 14, in a latest development on Saturday morning. The earlier deadline for KYC and mainnet migration was February 28.

According to an official announcement made on X by Pi Network team, “the KYC and Mainnet migration deadlines for the Grace Period have been extended one last time to 8:00am UTC on March 14, 2025, allowing additional time and opportunity after Open Network for real Pioneers to verify their balances and migrate to the Mainnet.”

In a separate blogpost, developers of Pi Network explained why they have termed the latest extension as the “last grace period” before mainnet migration.

“However, given the 6 month Grace Period—along with its multiple extensions that should have given Pioneers plenty of opportunities to verify and receive their Pi on the Mainnet—the end of the Grace Period is inevitable to make sure the network can move on in its new phase without large sums of unverified and unclaimed mobile balances,” read a statement from Pi Network Team.

What is KYC in Pi Network?

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is essential for maintaining the integrity of the Pi Network. It helps ensure authenticity by preventing fake or duplicate accounts, and making sure that only real individuals hold and transact Pi.

It also helps Pi Network comply with regulations and strengthens security, making the ecosystem more trustworthy. Completing KYC allows users to fully access and transfer their Pi on the Mainnet, which officially launched on February 20, 2025.

The Pi network developers also warned that failure to complete KYC or mainnet migration within the latest grace period would result in customers risking forfeiture of their mobile balances, except for Pi mined in the rolling 6 months before migration.
