A leading innovator in blockchain technology, Worldcoin achieved a remarkable milestone by utilizing a specialized device called the Orb to verify World IDs in Argentina.
According to a blog post by Worldcoin, a staggering 9,500 individuals in Argentina verified their World IDs within a single day, equating to an average of nearly one verification every 9 seconds.
Alex Blania, the CEO of Worldcoin, commended Argentina for its openness to emerging crypto technologies. He remarked, “I think the first major thing that stands out is that Argentina specifically is one of the most crypto-forward countries in the world.”
The popularity of the verification process also propelled the World App, the primary wallet for Worldcoin, to the top spot in Argentina’s App Store for a period of time. This underscores the keen interest of the Argentine population in novel crypto concepts.
