Labeled A Virtual Haven for All, Utopia, an inclusive metaverse experience created by Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot and IMVU, invites the world to join Utopia on Friday, April 14.
Together Labs, the parent company of the social Web3 metaverse IMVU and blockchain technology business MetaJuice, made the announcement during the NFT.NYC 2023 conference in New York. Nadya Tolokonnikova, the artist and originator of Pussy Riot, will be attending the launch.
In celebration of their common desire to build warm Web3 metaverse spaces, IMVU will debut the Utopia official community area and soon roll out a limited-edition non-fungible token (NFT) collection.
“It’s very thrilling to launch Utopia in IMVU and make it feminist, queer, diverse and radical. It has always been a dream of mine to create a Pink Church of Feminism,” Nadya explains. “Eventually, I’ll find a way to build it in real life. But the first step is to launch this vision in the metaverse.”
The room is designed to assist like-minded IMVU users and foster an inclusive environment for everyone, including female, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ creatives. The free quest will unlock a Nadya-designed Utopia Community NFT for the first 5,000 eligible users.
Both new and returning users of IMVU will go on an in-metaverse quest to discover the Pussy Riot Pink Church of Feminism, which is Nadya’s official IMVU location.
Maura Welch also mentioned that “Nadya has long loved the freedom and aesthetic possibilities of the IMVU metaverse, and so we worked together on an extraordinary collaboration bringing Nadya’s art and activism to life for IMVU’s incredibly diverse and wildly creative community. We welcome Nadya’s fans to IMVU in joining her Utopia community.”
