Chainlink has expanded its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Data Streams to the TON blockchain, connecting Toncoin (TON) to more than 60 networks and establishing it as a cross-chain transferable asset under the Chainlink Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard.
According to the press release, the integration enables Toncoin and other assets on TON to move securely between networks, while maintaining compliance and performance standards suited for institutional-scale DeFi.
The collaboration also introduces Chainlink’s Data Streams to TON, giving developers access to low-latency, real-time market data for trading, lending, and derivatives applications.
By plugging into the same data and interoperability rails that power other major Layer-1s, the Telegram-born chain widens its reach to builders chasing speed and liquidity, not just hype.
Expanding Web3 and AI ecosystems
The update comes as TON continues to evolve into a key player within Telegram’s expanding blockchain ecosystem.
Just yesterday, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov unveiled Cocoon, a decentralized AI compute network built on the blockchain that allows GPU owners to rent computing power in exchange for Toncoin. It is set to integrate directly with Telegram’s mini-apps and bots starting in November.
Taken together, TON’s deals with Chainlink and Telegram show an ecosystem stacking layers fast, from infrastructure to real use. The coming months will reveal if it’s substance or just scale.
