Play-To-Earn Nft Game ‘Step Hero’ Bnb Contract Hacked

The play-to-earn NFT game, Step Hero, has suffered a security breach on its Binance Smart Chain (BNB) contract. There are reports that the multiverse game has already lost $89K in BNB.

The attack was executed through an address funded via Tornado Cash, a known cryptocurrency mixer often used to mask transaction origins. This makes it extremely difficult to trace the exploiters.

Cyvers Alerts, a blockchain security platform, was first to detect and issued an alert on this alleged hack. Their system identified the unusual activity on Step Hero’s contract and flagged the address funded through Tornado Cash.

It blends NFT collectibles with DeFi. Players can collect heroes, engage in battles, as well as earn tokens through gameplay. The game features a marketplace for trading NFTs and a staking system for earning rewards.
