Chatgpt Down: Global  Outage Leaves Users Unable To Access

The popular AI chatbot ChatGPT from OpenAI experienced a major worldwide service disruption during morning hours, which prevented users from accessing its platform. The disruption of ChatGPT services started at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 6, and triggered more than 1,400 complaints recorded by Downdetector.

The problem affected a vast majority of users, as reports exceeding 98% pointed to ChatGPT problems. Users posted on X (formerly Twitter) to check if other people encountered similar service disruptions during the time the chatbot was unavailable.

Social media has become the default platform for users to verify widespread service disruptions because it provides confirmation about the extent of the problem.

The OpenAI status page verified the service interruption that disrupted ChatGPT along with its API and Sora platforms. OpenAI began receiving reports of the disruption at 9:58 AM IST on February 5 as their team continuously provided updates throughout the service restoration process.

The company achieved API and Sora operational success at 1:32 am IST as they worked to identify the original cause of the problem. OpenAI reported the complete resolution of ChatGPT along with API and Sora at 2:45 AM IST.
