A prominent figure in tech and venture capitalism, Kai-Fu Lee, reiterated his forecast that by 2027, AI would replace half of the global workforce.
Lee, renowned for his roles at Apple, Microsoft, and Google, reaffirms his 2017 prediction of AI’s capability to automate repetitive tasks such as truck driving and telemarketing, supported by the rise of Generation AI.
Lee said, “These are things that are superhuman, and we think this will be in every industry, will probably replace 50% of human jobs, create a huge amount of wealth for mankind and wipe out poverty.”
Lee, currently leading Sinovation Ventures and 01.AI, believes AI will surpass electricity and the internet in importance. His predictions are rooted in China’s advancements in AI, a field he believes China will lead.
