WEN, a new meme coin on the Solana blockchain, seeks to celebrate a key aspect of crypto culture related to timelines and achievements.
The WEN token experienced an extraordinary surge, surpassing a $50 million market value within just 12 hours of its introduction on Solana on January 26. WEN was distributed through an airdrop to users on the decentralized Jupiter exchange.
To receive the free tokens, Jupiter users needed to trade at least $5 between July 2023 and January.
The qualification period lasted six months, concluding on Jan. 19 at midnight UTC with a snapshot taken. If tokens aren’t claimed by January 29, they will be burned, as stated on WEN’s launch page.
WEN draws inspiration from a fractionalized NFT poem created by the pseudonymous developer Weremeow, known for contributing to the Jupiter exchange and other Solana-based dapps like Meteora. The cryptocurrency is managed by the Ovals team and was launched through Jupiter’s LFG launchpad platform.
