Jack Ma’s Ant Group Launches Blockchain Service called ZAN

The Chinese financial giant, Ant Group has launched ZAN, a new blockchain service platform to serve its web 3 community clients in overseas markets.

ZAN offers a blockchain application development suite to developers while helping institutional clients in issuing and managing real-world assets while considering the local regulatory environment.

While being a subsidiary of Ant Group, the product suite of ZAN is powered by AntChain Open Labs. It also offers clients with services such as eKYC, anti-money laundering (AML) compliance and know-your-transactions.

According to the press-release, ZAN introduces a Smart Contract Review (SCR) method for developers to handle security and performance issues while developing applications. The developers are also enabled with high-performance Node services for secure RPC and enhanced APIs to improve efficiency.

“At Ant Group Digital Technologies, we have seen the trend and also efficiency and security related bottlenecks during the application development process,” says the Zhang, “To resolve these pain points, ZAN is dedicated to investing in research and development of Web3 technologies and products, providing more extensive and reliable technical services to support the community, and working with our partners to accelerate Web3 developments and innovations.”

The company began piloting its novel technology earlier this year with onboarding HashKey DID becoming its first major client to integrate ZAN’s eKYC service. Alongside HashKey, Morpheus Labs and Everest Ventures have also become ZAN’s first partners.
