Key Highlights
- SharpLink deployed $170 million in ETH on Linea as part of an institutional-focused yield strategy.
- The initiative combines native staking, EigenCloud restaking, and network incentives within Anchorage Digital’s regulated custody framework.
- This collaboration with Linea, ether.fi, and SharpLink establishes a blueprint for institutional participation in DeFi.
SharpLink, an institutional cryptocurrency firm, has completed a $170 million Ethereum deployment on the Linea network. This initiative aims to offer professional investors access to diversified yield strategies and was introduced in collaboration with Anchorage Digital, ether.fi, and EigenCloud.
The crypto firm hopes to offer a safe and regulatory-friendly entry point for institutional-scale capital to access the productive DeFi market by leveraging a qualified custodian and staking levels.
Multi-layered revenue streams
The deployment combines several revenue sources within the Ethereum ecosystem, including staking reward yields from Ethereum and restaking reward yields from EigenCloud.
Additionally, the capital will gain from direct incentives provided by the Linea network and the liquid restaking protocol ether.fi. Anchorage Digital plays a crucial role in securing the operation as the institutional-grade qualified custodian for the assets.
This structure allows the $170 million in ETH to remain productive across multiple protocols while staying within a regulated custody framework.
Bridging compliance gaps
This move occurs when institutional interest in Ethereum has shifted. Traditionally, large asset holders have been averse to interaction with complex yield-bearing protocols for reasons of security as well as compliance.
With the partnership with Anchorage Digital, SharpLink is addressing these traditional challenges. Declan Fox, Head of Linea, highlighted this milestone, stating, “This $170M ETH deployment with SharpLink reflects exactly what Linea is designed to enable: institutional-scale participation in Ethereum that combines productivity, security, and credibility.”
He added, “By bringing together enhanced, risk-adjusted yield with qualified custody and trusted partners like Anchorage Digital, ether.fi and EigenCloud, we’re showing how institutions can deploy ETH productively while meeting the security and compliance standards they require. This is a meaningful step forward in how institutions engage with Ethereum at scale.”
Future ecosystem impact
The deployment could indicate a more mature landscape for Layer 2 networks and restaking ecosystems. With more and more institutional capital flowing into networks like Linea, the demand for sophisticated middleware and restaking services will likely rise from firms like EigenCloud.
This type of setup could be a blueprint for future institutional deployments that may lead to increased liquidity and more stable yield environments across the broader Ethereum ecosystem. It shows a trend where the line between traditional institutional finance and decentralized finance continues to blur.
By bringing together several key infrastructure providers, the firm has created a high-capacity channel for Ethereum productivity that emphasizes regulatory compliance.
