Monad’s upcoming airdrop has become a closely followed event in the crypto community. The community is expecting Monad to hit mainnet within 90 days and the token will be launched subsequently.
The excitement is building after updates on X revealed that the highly anticipated airdrop is already 51% complete. The rollout hints at a structured distribution tied to reputation and community activity.
In a post shared earlier today, Roman, a crypto commentator, mentioned that Monad has confirmed the airdrop. According to him the token most likely needs to wait three to eight months for the distribution to be finalized.
“Wormhole’s founder hinted that holding $W tokens could earn you $MON tokens in an airdrop,” he added. He also mentioned that the KURU project, which supports Monad, said a token launch could happen within 91 days.
Community reaction and ecosystem growth
The news sparked mixed reactions. Some users said they have given up on the project, while others said they are still involved. One X user, BW, urged caution. He warned, “Please don’t fall for random claim checkers, engagement bait, or meme accounts! The only reliable update will come directly from the monad official channels.” His warning shows that scams can pop up anytime when an airdrop is getting a lot of attention.
Moreover, Monad’s foundation has continued to strengthen the ecosystem. Just two months ago, it acquired Portal Labs, the team behind Portal, a stablecoin wallet infrastructure. In the announcement, the firm said the acquisition is expected to deliver a full-stack payments solution. Thereby amplifying efforts to make stablecoin-powered payments seamless across Web2 and Web3 businesses.
