Openai’s Gpt-5 Free For Everyone What’s New

OpenAI, the American artificial intelligence (AI) company, introduced its new and advanced AI model GPT-5 to its AI chatbot ChatGPT on August 7, 2025. Since the day of its launch, GPT-5 became accessible to all its 700 million free weekly users of ChatGPT.

But free users have a limit on how much they can use it. For example, free users can send 10 messages every 5 hours and receive 1 “GPT‑5 Thinking” message each day. While its Pro users have access to an even more powerful version of GPT-5, known as GPT-5 Pro, whereas its Plus users have greater access to GPT-5.

For developers, OpenAI offers three versions, GPT-5, GPT-5-mini, and GPT-5-nano, costing $1.25 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with options to adjust response length and thinking depth. The firm has also stated that its GPT-5 is as smart as a PhD in coding and writing.

This launch has intensified competition among AI chatbots, including Elon Musk’s Grok, which is part of X. On the other hand, OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, has claimed that GPT-5 is “the best model in the world.”

GPT-5 Features and Four Chat Personalities

As per reports, GPT-5 has a lot to offer to programmers, as it allows them to build websites, apps, and games by using simple instructions. ChatGPT with GPT-5 now has four personality options: cynic, robot, listener, and nerd. This update has been made to make the chats feel more natural and fix overly agreeable responses from GPT-4o

Further, by paying $200/month for ChatGPT Pro, GPT-5 can connect to Gmail and Google Calendar to help users with scheduling and emails. This feature makes it function like a personal assistant. GPT-5 makes 45% fewer mistakes than GPT-4o, which makes it more reliable. It has been improved to minimize AI hallucinations and make less errors. It’s effective at answering health questions, scoring well on tests, and pointing out concerns.

The firm generates revenue by selling subscriptions to better versions of ChatGPT and by letting businesses use its AI in their computer systems. Recently, it also collaborated with Microsoft to enhance reasoning, smarter task execution, and better contextual understanding for its users across the platforms. These partnerships not only enhance the capabilities of various industries like healthcare, finance, and education to work better but also make OpenAI’s AI smarter and more accurate.
