Grayscale Adds 7 More Cryptos To Its Smart Contract Fund

Grayscale Investments has expanded its Smart Contract Platform Fund, adding seven more major cryptocurrencies to its portfolio.

According to the firm’s update on X (formerly Twitter), “Grayscale Smart Contract Fund now includes Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Avalanche, Sui, Near, and Polkadot.” The fund is rebalanced every three months, meaning Grayscale adjusts its holdings based on how the market is moving.

Grayscale’s fund gives investors exposure to smart contract platforms without the hassle of directly buying and holding these assets. Instead, they can just buy shares of the fund; that way, they won’t have to go through the mess of complex digital wallets or keep track of private keys.

Among the newly added, Solana is currently the largest of the funds, holding about 31.30%, which is just slightly ahead of Ethereum at 31.22%.

Cardano enters strongly with an 18.23% allocation, followed by Avalanche (7.26%), Sui (6.50%), Near (2.95%), and Polkadot (2.54%).

The fund follows a market cap-weighted system, which means the more valuable a project is, the bigger its share in the fund. However, there’s a rule that no single asset can take up more than 30%, just to keep things balanced.
