Man Earns 99,999,900% Return On Bitcoin After Hodling For 15 Years

A long-dormant Bitcoin wallet just sprang to life, moving 50 BTC worth nearly $5 million after sitting untouched for 15 years—securing a staggering 99,999,900% return. Blockchain data from Arkham shows the transaction took place on February 2, 2025, sparking curiosity among crypto enthusiasts.

The wallet, which originally mined these BTC in Bitcoin’s early days, has now turned an almost worthless asset into a fortune. Such moves by early adopters often trigger speculation: Is this an old miner cashing out, a security-driven transfer, or something else?

The transaction, recorded in block #882004, originated from 15RRC…9c6if and split into two addresses—20 BTC to bc1qew…0adx9 and 29.9999926 BTC to bc1qgj…p3nvye7. Despite the massive amount, the fee was just $0.73.

This isn’t the first time a whale has awakened after years of silence. Similar movements have been spotted in the past, sometimes linked to early adopters selling, shifting funds for privacy, or even lost wallets being recovered.

With more than a million BTC still locked in dormant wallets, many wonder—who’s next to wake up and move their fortune?
