Trump Names Bo Hines As Executive Director Of Crypto Council

Donald Trump has named Bo Hines, a former college football player and 2022 U.S. House Republican candidate, as the Executive Director of his new “Crypto Council.”

Trump announced on December 22 via Truth Social that Hines will work alongside David Sacks, his chosen crypto and AI czar, to support growth and innovation in the digital assets sector.

The new advisory group, formally called the Presidential Council of Advisers for Digital Assets, aims to provide industry leaders with the resources they need to thrive. Hines, who narrowly lost his race for North Carolina’s U.S. House seat in 2022, has been a pro-crypto advocate.

Hines’s campaign received financial backing from pro-crypto PACs, including contributions linked to FTX founder Ryan Salame, who is currently serving time for illegal political donations. Trump’s appointment of Hines further strengthens his commitment to the crypto space.

In addition to Hines, Trump named Sriram Krishnan, former Andreessen Horowitz general partner, as the senior AI policy adviser for the council. Krishnan expressed his excitement to help ensure America remains a leader in AI technology.

These appointments reflect Trump’s ongoing support for the cryptocurrency industry. His presidential campaign promised to make the U.S. the global hub for crypto, attracting significant backing from crypto executives.

With these moves, Trump is positioning himself to be a strong advocate for digital assets and innovation.
