Xt Exchange Pauses Withdrawals Following A Potential Hack

One of the largest crypto trading platform, XT Exchange has paused withdrawals after a potential security breach. The hacker has outsmarted the team with managing to steal over one and a half million dollars from the exchange wallet.

XT team has not confirmed any news about the breach but security research firm PeckShield shared a post citing that the hacker has stolen approximately $1.7 million. The hacker has swapped stolen funds to 461.58 ETH.

As per the official announcement from the exchange, the suspension on withdrawals is subjected to the wallet upgrade and maintenance. “Due to the wallet upgrade and maintenance, XT has suspended all coin withdrawals. Sorry for the inconvenience caused during the suspension.” said the team on their support channel. 

Although there has not been any confirmation on their X handle regarding the matter. 

According to Coinmarketcap data, XT is currently ranked 20th most popular crypto exchange with a 24 hour trading volume of $3.16 billion and support to over 900 crypto assets.
