Ton Application Chain And Polygon Labs Integrate

The TON Application Chain (TAC) and Polygon Labs have collaborated to provide Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) functionality to the TON ecosystem. This integration seeks to enhance the diversity of apps accessible to TON users, such as decentralized finance (DeFi), gaming, and identity solutions.

On July 9, TAC and Polygon revealed their integration of the Polygon CDK and the interoperability protocol Agglayer. This move will introduce EVM-compatible decentralized applications (DApps) to the TAC platform.

TAC’s CEO, Pavel Altukhov, emphasized that this collaboration will bridge the gap between the TON and Ethereum ecosystems, facilitating DApp integration within Telegram.

By leveraging applications like Wallet in Telegram, Ethereum developers will access a vast user base, enabling more real-world crypto applications. Potential use cases include DeFi, gaming, and decentralized identity solutions.

TON Network’s Active Addresses Surpass Ethereum

On July 6, Messari reported a notable rise in daily active addresses on the TON network, surpassing Ethereum in June. TAC’s founding team, including Curve founder Michael Egerov and the team behind The Open Protocol (TOP), has driven this growth. TOP offers crypto wallet functionality within the Telegram app, enhancing user experience.

TAC, a layer-2 network built on TON, is designed to bring EVM-based decentralized applications to TON and Telegram users. While the network has seen an uptick in trading activity of new tokens, it has also faced a rise in phishing attacks.

SlowMist founder Yu Xian warned of phishing risks within the Telegram ecosystem, highlighting the spread of deceptive links through message groups and airdrops.

Despite security concerns, TAC and Polygon Labs’ integration of EVM functionality marks a significant advancement. This development promises to enhance the range of applications available to TON users, offering new opportunities in DeFi, gaming, and more.

The collaboration highlights the potential for further innovation within the TON and Ethereum ecosystems.
