The discussions between the artificial intelligence start-up in France, Mistral, and an investor for €500 million extra funding have started. If successful, the valuation of Mistral will be at least €5 billion. This decision comes after the company had approval of €400 million or the valuation of the company of Europe might be questionable.
Besides venture capital funds and sovereign wealth funds, other investors have shown a true interest in supporting the Mistral project and consider it as a competitor to the Americans OpenAI and Anthropic. Paris-based organization that was established on May 23rd and comprises Meta, and Google AI scientists also has attracted great attention for developments of AI generation.
The fact that Mistral has been able to skyrocket in the AI industry in this short period has been remarkable although quite several such examples have cropped up lately too. Upon successful releases of AI models and with products like Le Chat, Mistral started generating revenue and more investor interest attributed to it.
