Oneplus Unveils Ai Photo Tool, Emulating Google &Amp; Samsung

OnePlus has joined the AI trend with the introduction of the AI Eraser, a tool designed to remove unwanted objects from photos. This move aligns OnePlus with competitors like Google and Samsung, who have already integrated AI-powered editing tools into their devices.

Unlike its rivals, OnePlus had previously not emphasized generative AI as a primary feature, a stance praised by reviewers. However, the company’s new AI Eraser demonstrates a shift in strategy, utilizing its proprietary model to enable object removal and background replacement in images.

“AI Eraser is the result of a substantial R&D investment from OnePlus that has been undertaken with a commitment to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content,” OnePlus says.

This announcement reflects the growing importance of generative AI in smartphone development, with Samsung’s Galaxy AI and Google’s Magic Editor serving as notable examples. Industry analysts anticipate a surge in AI-equipped smartphones, with IDC predicting a significant increase in shipments of “next-gen AI” devices.

This trend suggests that AI-driven features will become increasingly prevalent across smartphone brands, with Apple also expected to unveil AI-based enhancements in its upcoming iOS update.

Overall, OnePlus’ adoption of the AI Eraser underscores the evolving landscape of smartphone technology, where AI capabilities are becoming integral to user experience and competition among manufacturers.
