Worldcoin Launches Orb Tech For Id Verification In Singapore

A cryptocurrency venture founded by Sam Altman, Worldcoin, has expanded its innovative World ID verification system to Singapore, enabling individuals to verify their identity using the project’s custom hardware device, the Orb.

Following the release of World ID 2.0 and the open-sourcing of the iris recognition pipeline in December, verification locations have expanded globally, including cities in Spain, Germany, Chile, Argentina, and Japan.

Tools for Humanity (TFH), a project contributor, has joined Singapore’s ACCESS and the Singapore Fintech Association, strengthening its presence in the tech and startup communities. TFH’s product development team recently concluded a successful multi-city tour in Asia.

The World App, the inaugural World ID-compatible wallet, has achieved significant milestones with over 4 million downloads, earning it the rank of the 5th most popular hot wallet globally in 2023. Monthly active users have surpassed 1.7 million, and the app has recorded over 30 million transactions.

This development underscores the growing global interest in Worldcoin’s pursuit of establishing proof of personhood and its expanding market influence across Asia, Europe, and South America.
