Kpmg Canada Partners With Chainalysis To Combat Crypto Fraud

Global audit and consulting firm KPMG Canada partners with Chainalysis, making it the first collaboration of a Canadian professional services firm in combating crypto fraud through joint forensic investigation services.

This collaboration enhances KPMG’s ability to assist clients in various sectors, emphasizing the improvement of blockchain monitoring, support, governance, and risk management to align with evolving cryptoasset regulations and reinforce Anti-Money Laundering Compliance programs.

Enzo Carlucci, National Forensic Leader at KPMG in Canada, stated, “By teaming up with Chainalysis, KPMG clients can benefit from Chainalysis’ proprietary blockchain data monitoring technology, resulting in improved identification of potentially criminal activities and faster response times.”

The collaboration is a response to the Chainalysis 2023 Crypto Crime Report, revealing a record-breaking $20.6 billion in global cryptocurrency-based illicit transactions.

KPMG Canada’s collaboration with Chainalysis to combat crypto fraud reflects a strategic move, leveraging advanced technology for enhanced client protection amid a surge in illicit transactions.
