American cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has hired Sachin Ranglani, who has a wealth of tech industry experience, as the head of operations for its Indian subsidiary.
To expand operations in India, Gemini invested $24 million, and as a result, Sachin was hired as head of operations in September.
Sachin previously spent three years as senior vice president of product management at the Indian fintech company Paytm, and he also has experience working at Uber, Amazon, and Infosys.
The engineering center of Gemini in Gurgaon will significantly contribute to the company’s growth in the upcoming years, according to the region’s CEO, Pravjit Tiwana.
According to reports, Tiwana says the Gurgaon branch, which currently employs over 70 people, plans to hire an additional 100 people by the end of 2023. He also added that at the end of 2024, there will be 200 employees.
The company also said that its spot and derivatives crypto trading products are ready to serve both retail and institutional customers in India.
On its website, Gemini says: “Our Gurgaon office will be the second largest Gemini engineering hub behind the United States and complements our existing offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Singapore.”
