The chief executive officer (CEO) of Uber, Dara Khosrowashahi, has discussed the potential for using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as payment methods. 

In a recent TV interview, Khosrowashahi addressed inquiries about Uber’s view on Bitcoin payouts and ongoing discussions. While the idea is being considered, definite decisions haven’t been made yet. 

Regarding Bitcoin acceptance, Khosrowashahi showed openness, mentioning it could happen one day, “once it becomes environmentally friendly and cheaper to exchange.” Ongoing conversations are taking place on this topic, and he highlighted Uber’s active involvement in these talks. 

Khosrowshahi emphasized the value of certain cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, as a store of value. Yet, he recognized challenges for everyday transactions due to high costs and environmental concerns. 

The Uber CEO stressed the need for more cost-effective and eco-friendly ways to use cryptocurrencies for payments. He underlined Uber’s interest in monitoring cryptocurrency technology development for smoother and more sustainable transactions.
