After being bamboozled by a flash loan attack, Euler Finance were left licking their paws and rendered helpless as funds over $200M were hacked by anonymous hacker.
Euler Finance did try to cut a deal with the hacker with a lucrative offer, where the hacker could keep 10% of the hacked amount, around $20M if they returned the stolen money.
When there was no response from the hacker, Euler Finance sent out another tweet announcing a $1M reward to anyone who stepped forward with information about the hacker.
The announcement did not sit well with the hacker. As soon as the $1M reward was announced the hacker converted 1,000 ETH into Tornado Cash with no care for the offer or remorse of the hack.
On-chain data reflects that 1500 ETH are still held on the attackers’ address.Â
However, the hacker is not a stone cold killer as an individual investors plea moved them to return the investors money with a little bonus as they sent 100 ETH back.
The 100 ETH remains the only recovered amount from what has been deemed as the biggest hack of the year.
