Irish Distillers Files For Nft &Amp; Metaverse-Related Trademarks

The largest distiller of Irish whiskey, Irish Distillers, filed for NFT and Metaverse-related trademarks for its iconic Jameson whiskey at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on 18th January 2023.

Irish Distillers intends to launch online retail stores featuring virtual goods such as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, food, clothing, footwear, headwear, glasses, etc, for use in the metaverse.

The company also aims to provide incentive reward programs for customers through the issuance and processing of loyalty points authenticated by NFTs for online purchases of a company’s goods and services.

It aims to set up online marketplaces for buyers and sellers of virtual goods, blockchain tokens, digital tokens, NFTs, digital media, digital files, and digital assets. 

Irish Distillers intends to offer entertainment services like conducting actual and virtual workshops, educational demonstrations, and courses of instruction in the field of mixology and alcoholic beverages. 

Irish Distillers is a subsidiary of the French drinks conglomerate Pernod Ricard. Pernod Ricard also owns Swedish-based Absolut Vodka which has filed similar trademark applications as that of Jameson Whiskey on January 8th, 2023.
