Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) teases a new update, “The Trial Of Jimmy The Monkey,” on Twitter by releasing a “short film kicking off a new chapter in the lore of BAYC.”
BAYC’s “roadmap 2.0” which is basically an updated version of its intentions for the future of the BAYC community and its simian ecosystem, was made public in September 2021.
Users could see a manacled monkey sitting in the top corner with the words “The Trial of Jimmy the Monkey” beneath it.
BAYC announced the long-awaited Trial of Jimmy the Monkey’s commencement this Christmas season, officially on November 24.
There is a list of events announced, reportedly hinting at an NFT launch where the first one has been revealed: “Prologue: The Trial of Jimmy, December 21.”
The upcoming events are:
- December 28: “The Past, Present, Future”
- January 11: “Prepare for the Mint”
- January 18: “Multi-week Interactive Mint”
- February 8: “Mint Reveal”
- TBA: “The Story Continues”
BAYC provides information on the specific mint levels. Holders of BAYC or Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) NFTs who simultaneously hold a Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC) are in separate tiers.
BAYC stated, “When it comes to the mint, Apes (BAYC or MAYC) who also hold a BAKC will be in tiers of their own. There will also be an optional $APE spend mechanic, for those looking to enhance their minting experience.”
Solitary holders of either the BAYC or the MAYC earn certain tier benefits. There are a total of four separate tiers. A Mutant Ape is in Tier One, and a Mutant Ape plus a BAKC is in Tier 2. Tier 3 is also a Bored Ape.
A Bored Ape and a BAKC dog make up Tier 4. Tier 4 is the highest-ranking tier in the group as well. These are the majority of the details posted on the BAYC’s official Twitter account.
BAYC stated that things will come to a head in late January with a free, playable, interactive mint experience for BAYC and MAYC holders, and users will be asked to test their skills and their knowledge.
