After the sudden failure of the crypto asset platform FTX, California’s Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) announced it is investigating FTX. The regulator, however, did not disclose much detail in a press release but said it is probing into the apparent collapse of the FTX.
The regulator also asked affected people to contact the DFPI online or call toll-free at (866) 275-2677. With this announcement, California has become the first state to probe into the exchange after the FTX liquidity crisis.
Prior to the collapse, the Texas State Securities board already started investigating both SBF and FTX US. They are accused of offering unregistered securities products in the U.S. through the yield-bearing service.
