More Indians Want To Have A Dating Experience In Metaverse

With the increasing popularity of metaverse in India, more people are showing interest in metaverse experiences such as dating, shopping, and banking services. 

Of those surveyed, around men (60%) are more interested in experiencing virtual dates and events in the metaverse than women (48%). As per a consumer report by global financial services company FIS, about 68% of Indians are inclined to shop in the metaverse. 

On the other hand, 57% expressed a preference to access the metaverse to explore banking services in the next 12 months. Products and services that Indians are tempted to purchase include event tickets to music concerts, sports matches, virtual fashion clothing, games, and gaming tokens, the report said. 

The reports also revealed that 78% of Indians showed interest to buy clothes, shoes, and other wearables from social media platforms. Moreover, 70% were also keen on grocery shopping on such platforms.

About 63% of Indians favor in-app purchases to get rewards and cashback. The report also mentioned that approximately 56% of Indians are concerned about falling prey to fraudulent sellers on social media while 62% of Indians worry about fraudulent transactions while making in-app purchases. 

76% of Indians use Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for online transactions, among them, millennials account for the highest use of UPI when shopping online, the report said.
