The most iconic NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) appoints Tokenproof as the official verification platform for the upcoming ApeFest 2022 set to occur on June 20-23.
ApeFest 2022 has been rescheduled to coincide with the SuperBowl Of NFTs, the NFT.NYC event, and the BAYC team is expecting a huge audience this year, based on 2021’s attendance.
Tokenproof is assisting BAYC in securely verifying the ownership of attendees and distributing tickets for the ApeFest this year.
Tokenproof is a firm that specializes in secure token-gating systems. NFT users can carry a proof of ownership token that is linked to both their Ethereum account and their mobile device via their app.
Users will be able to authenticate ownership of their NFTs and other assets after enrolling in tokenproof.
Only by using the tokenproof app attendees will be able to get tickets and enter ApeFest at Pier 17.
Next the participants must enroll in tokenproof.xyz with the wallet holding their BAYC or MAYC NFTs. This allows tokenproof to verify that their wallet holds a BAYC or MAYC NFT.
This process has no transaction or gas fees, and by enrolling in tokenproof the participant is not giving anyone permission to make transactions on their behalf.
The BAYC team provided tutorial videos on how to go through the whole enrollment process both on desktop and mobile via their official Twitter account.
Even though there is no requirement for attendees to connect their wallet during ApeFest, their BAYC or MAYC NFT must be in the wallet that they used for tokenproof enrollment.
If the ApeFest attendees move the NFT out of their wallet, it loses its ability to be used for ticketing.
The ApeFest website set to go live later this week, will have more information on the ticketing procedure and when the NFT holders sign up.
Several NFT projects have already kickstarted their NFT events for 2022 and more of the fests are on the way like ApeFest for example.
Two weeks back, Gary Vee kicked off the ‘VeeCon’ NFT conference in Minneapolis, and the tickets were NFTs given to VeeFriends NFT owners a year ago in exchange for 3 years of access to the VeeCon annual convention.
