The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele buys another 420 new bitcoins to take advantage of its recent price drop. The Central American country has now total 1120 BTC till date.
“It was a long wait, but worth it. We just bought the dip!,” the president said in a post on Twitter.
Later on, he replied on his own tweet that they are already in profit. Prior to these El Salvador had purchased Bitcoins over a month ago.
On Sept 7, El Salvador adopted Bitcoin as legal tender. After adopting bitcoin as legal tender, El Salvador first purchased 200 BTC on Sept 6, 2021 and the next day another batch of 150 BTC. On Sept 19, the country purchased another 150 BTC and the total holdings reached 700 BTC.
“Our brokers will be buying a lot more as the deadline approaches,” Nayib Bukele added. The country decided to celebrate this historic day as “Bitcoin Day.”
