Elon Musk and Bitcoin Miners come together to address Crypto Energy Usage. After some massive push to cryptocurrency fans, Tesla Elon musk now comes forward to help form a Bitcoin mining council. Musk has spoken with North American Bitcoin miners and has committed to developing a Bitcoin mining council to “promote energy usage transparency and accelerate sustainability initiatives worldwide.”
MicroStrategy CEO Micheal Saylor tweeted that he hosted a meeting between ElonMusk and “the leading Bitcoin miners in North America”. Musk also tweeted earlier that miners group “committed to publish current & planned renewable usage to ask miners WW to do so. Potentially promising.”
Saylor proceeded to say the meeting included executives from Argo blockchain, Blackcap, Core scientific, Galaxy Digital, Hive Blockchain, Riot Blockchain, Hut 8 Mining, and MarathonDH. It resulted in the group forming the “Bitcoin Mining Council”. (having length more but its include all name of the executive)
According to Michael Saylor, executives present at the meeting have “decided to establish an organization to standardize energy reporting, pursue industry ESG Goals & educate +grow the marketplace.”
Various other companies mentioned tweeted their support for the plan.
Agro Blockchain CEO Peter wall tweeted “As a founding member of the bitcoin mining Council Agro will push hard to sustainable mining and more transparency. This is the way!”
Hut 8 Mining confirmed it was part of the discussion Saylor referenced tweeting that it would “Educate the market that sustainable mining is possible and a priority.”
Merrick Okamoto, executive chairman at Marathon Digital Holdings tweeted that the company would do its part “to contribute to sustainable mining and transparency.”
However, Musk made note many times of the cryptocurrency sustainability problem. But the meeting and the new Bitcoin Mining Council may show promise for a sustainable future for Bitcoin mining.
