A Versus Entertainment NFT movie ‘Infinite Machine’ about the developer and development of Ethereum is currently in the making. The movie is being made in partnership with Decentraland and Lumiere.
The movie “Infinite Machine” is being adapted from a book of the same title, written by Camilla Russo.
The movie will tell the story of Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum and of Ethereum itself.
The movie is being produced by Versus Entertainment with acclaimed director Ridley Scott’s production company, Scott Free.
Lumiere, an entertainment specialist, will contribute to the development of the movie by building and integrating the experience of the film into Decentraland.
Alejandro De Grazia of Decentraland said, “We are really proud that a company such as Lumiere and as important a film as ‘The Infinite Machine’, have chosen Decentraland to build their experience to interact with its community fan base.”
The film’s budget of $16 million is being funded totally by the sale of NFTs. A third round of NFTs is going to be issued soon. Apparently, a total of 10,499 uniquely designed NFTs will be offered in the collection from 36 nascent artists.
“We believe Ethereum is enabling a world where users and audiences are now owners and participants, and so ‘The Infinite Machine’ film itself should be part of that movement and enable the Ethereum community to participate in the creation of a film about the platform,” said Russo, the writer of the book.
67.5% proceeds from the NFT sales will go towards the movie budget, 22.5% to the artists and 10% to the Infinite Machine DAO. Upon its release, this movie will become the first ever NFT-financed film.
