Coinbase Unveils Re-designed Mobile Wallet, Adds Solana Support

Global cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase unveils its redesigned mobile wallet app with exciting features like Solana blockchain support.

According to the blog post, the new Coinbase wallet includes features like the dapp browser, dark mode display, multiple language support, among other things.

Coinbase expands its support for the Solana network by introducing the ability to send, receive, and store SOL and Solana Program Library (SPL) tokens.

For multichain Web3 activity across DeFi, NFTs, etc users won’t require separate wallet apps with this feature.

The new DeFi tab on the home screen will surely make it easier to view DeFi activities, deposits, and balances on the Ethereum network. According to Coinbase, additional networks will soon be supported.

Users can easily keep up with the cryptocurrency markets and never miss the ideal moment to place a trade due to real-time price charts feature.

Coinbase Wallet is also adding support for almost 25 languages and local currencies to expand their service to a wider audience.

To make the process of researching dapps on the wallet more user-friendly, the search function now includes auto-complete, bookmarking, and tabs.

This capability mimics the type of user experience that users of standard web browsers are accustomed to.

A unique NFT indexing system that enables a token to appear right away after purchase is one of the other new features. This feature will first support Ethereum and Polygon, but later on, more networks will be supported.

Head of Coinbase Wallet Siddharth Coelho-Prabhu, stated “Users are expecting the same kind of high-quality and polished experience as they have with fintech or in social media. We are now trying to cater to people who have never heard of NFTs or don’t know what decentralized exchanges are.”

Just last week, Coinbase reduced its workforce by 18% with CEO Brian Armstrong emailing approximately 5,000 full-time employees, resulting in a slashing of nearly 1,100 jobs amid the ongoing crypto winter.
