Pi Network has introduced a new feature of Pi Network Mainnet wallet activation to make joining the Pi Mainnet ecosystem more inclusive and accessible.
This update enables fully KYC-verified and most tentatively KYC-verified Pioneers to activate their Mainnet wallets and interact directly with the Pi blockchain, a big move toward mass adoption.
Why This Matters
Previously, users would need to go through the entire Mainnet migration process, including KYC, anti-cheat analysis, and multiple steps, just to access a Mainnet wallet. This hindered onboarding and truncated participation. The revised change turns that on its head by separating wallet activation from complete migration.
Now, identity-verified users can start their wallets sooner, allowing more individuals to join and engage in the Pi ecosystem as the migration takes place in the background. This dramatically improves convenience without compromising security.
Steps to Activate Your Pi Network Mainnet Wallet
Please follow these easy steps to register and access your Pi Mainnet wallet securely.
Step 1: Verify Your Identity (KYC)
First, ensure you are identity-verified via Pi Network’s KYC process. You must be either fully KYC-verified or tentatively KYC-verified to continue. This step verifies you’re a valid user and is necessary to access the Mainnet ecosystem. If not already done, initiate the KYC process within the Pi app.

Step 2: Open Pi Wallet in Pi Browser
Once authenticated, run the Pi Browser, which is a must-have for the Pi environment. Using your browser, navigate to and launch the Pi Wallet app. Here is where you can set up your Mainnet wallet and begin safeguarding your Pi money.

Step 3: Activate Your Wallet
You will be asked to enable your Mainnet wallet within the Pi Wallet app. A 24-word passphrase, acting as a recovery key, will need to be created and kept safe. Carefully note this phrase down and keep it in a safe place, as it is required to recover access to your wallet.

Step 4: Use Third-Party KYC (For Non-Users)
If you are not yet a current Pi user but desire to join in the Pi universe, you are able to construct a Mainnet wallet by proceeding with KYC via supported third-party providers like Banxa. Upon verified status, you can now experience Pi utilities but remember this is just wallet-building KYC, not complete Pioneer migration.
Step 5: Start Using Your Wallet
After your wallet is activated, you can go ahead and start interacting with the Pi Mainnet ecosystem right away. Use your wallet to interact with Pi apps, engage in local commerce, and participate in events such as the.pi Domain Auction.
Even for new users, access to the wallet is no longer an issue due to this new functionality. A better, secure, inclusive, and scalable blockchain ecosystem is facilitated by Pi Network’s geographic expansion and third-party KYC providers such as Banxa being invited in.
As Pi Network continues to move towards wider adoption across industries while holding on to its fundamental principles of community-driven design and accessibility, this is a critical milestone.
