The US tech giant, OpenAI has fully launched an upgraded memory feature for its ChatGPT. The new feature is now available to its Plus and Pro users in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein.
Starting today, ChatGPT can reference all past conversations to deliver more personalized and relevant responses, tailored to its users’ preferences and interests. This enhancement makes the AI more effective for tasks like writing, seeking advice, learning, and more.
Unlike the previous version, which only used saved memories, the new system draws on entire chat histories to make interactions smoother and more customized. The new update in ChatGPT already knows about its users, which will create a more seamless experience. OpenAI emphasizes that its users remain in control of this feature.
They can opt out of referencing past chats or disable memory entirely through the settings. Those who have already opted out of memory will automatically be excluded from past chat referencing.
The firm announced this information in a post on its X post. The firm stated that its users can also directly tell ChatGPT to adjust what it knows about them or use a temporary chat mode for conversations that don’t affect or use memory.
The rollout begins today for Plus and Pro users in the specified Regions will include Team, Enterprise, and Edu users, who will gain access in the coming weeks. Users will know the feature is active when they see a confirmation message in ChatGPT.
This update has made ChatGPT smarter and more tailored to each user by remembering the past chats, while still letting its users control their privacy. OpenAI wants to give its users the choice to decide how much of their personal information ChatGPT should keep.
This new feature was launched on 10th April for US users only, but now from today this feature is available to European countries.
