Openai Whistleblower Suchir Balaji'S Mom Says Her Son Wrote A Credible Threat In His Journal.

With each passing day, the family of former OpenAI researcher turned whistleblower Suchir Balaji is raising voice for justice for their son, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his San Francisco apartment in November 2024.

Balaji’s death as has been termed as suicide by final autopsy reports and the case has been shut by San Francisco police, however, his family has alleged foul play into his death, pointing fingers at his whistleblowing activities against his former employer OpenAI.

A couple of days ago, Rao shared a solid evidence, a picture of last CCTV footage of Suchir, that San Francisco police have ignored, and declared his death as suicide.

However, Balaji’s mom, Poornima Rao, says her son wrote a credible threat in his journal. Rao alleges that in order to clarify OpenAI’s claimed copyright violations, Balaji had gathered evidence to back up his statements and set up interviews with prominent media outlets, such as the Associated Press.

While autopsy reports and San Francisco police have declared this death a suicide, Suchir’s family believes that his whistleblowing may have resulted in threats or intimidation, and they have sworn to find out the truth about his murder.

Rao uncovered new information about Balaji’s last days which shows his public exposure of supposed unethical activities at OpenAI could have provoked dangerous consequences for him. Rao classifies the “Credible Threat” document as containing precise information about Balaji’s worries and its presentation will be featured by investigative reporter Brian Entin in forthcoming story.

Rao seeks for the public to grasp fully how severe her son’s situation became before his passing along with the mortal circumstances that killed him.

Suchir Balaji’s family persists in their effort to discover what actually happened to him even after his sudden death. The Balaji family demands public cooperation to answer growing questions about how San Francisco police handled the case by bringing forward any potential threatening or irregular events. Although their quest for justice persists to obtain justice for the lost potential of their young mind.
