Apple, the American tech giant, may not launch its fully advanced version of Siri with enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) until 2025. Initially, Apple had planned to introduce this upgraded Siri in iOS 19.4, but the timeline for this release is now delayed.
According to Bloomberg tech reporter Mark Gurman, the company is set to roll out an LLM-powered enhancement to Siri in iOS 18.5. However, this update will operate as a separate model from the existing version of Siri, which Gurman describes as “a system that doesn’t work as smoothly as it could.”
Ultimately, Apple aims to integrate these two recognizable Siri models into a single, practical plan. This new system would be able to handle both basic functions, like setting timers, and leading AI-driven tasks that Apple showcased last year. As per the reports, these tasks will support the context, such as personal information and on-screen content, to perform actions across various apps.
However, Insider reports argue that the company’s AI division is struggling, with many claims that its models have reached their limits. The company has faced many claims in determining the fundamental AI training for its hardware to support future advancements in AI. Additionally, weak leadership and staffing issues have also further obstructed the progress within the department.
